Mario...Link...Sonic...Master Chief...Cloud Strife...there are alot of well known great video game characters. But what about the lesser known AWESOME video game characters? This is a video series I want to create in hopes of showing some overlooked, but AWESOME video game characters. This video highlights not just any goomba, but the FIRST goomba in Super Mario Bros. So what makes him/her so AWESOME? 1) This goomba is quite possibly responsible for more deaths than any other enemy in the history of Super Mario. Think about it...first time you play, you run through...BAM! You're dead! So you try again, thinking that "?" block will give you the edge to defeat the goomba...but you fail again. Last try...you decide to jump on or past him/her...either way, you got to get past...but you jump too early and die. It's GAME OVER for you! Awww!!! 2) This goomba has got the biggest balls of any Super Mario villain. This is the first enemy you meet. He/she is coming at you, blazing speed...and the only means of death, is touching you. No special weapons, no backup just in case you kill it or make it past it...no, this goomba says it's either me or you...or maybe neither of us! Besides all that, what if you let the poor goomba live? What then? What becomes of it's life? We don't know what's before the starting screen...does it just walk on somewhere and live a normal life? Does it get thrown somewhere else to attack you? Is there a hole it just randomly walks into? We don't know and may never know. But for all the above reasons and more, the first goomba in Super Mario Bros makes it into my list of AWESOME Video Game Characters!
