The James M. DuPont Meteorite Collection - to what was observed in common pyrolysis experiments [1,3]. At the same time the fraction of high temperature (800 degrees -1400 degrees C) P3 Ar was correspondingly increased (Fig). Thus the stability of the P3 carrier seems to be affected by the presence of the absorbed O on grain surfaces. This O can be removed (at least partly) by pyrolysing in a H atmosphere, that in turn prevent oxidation of P3 containing grains and as a result P3 Ar is released at higher temperature. More effective O-H exchange on diamond grain surface may convert all P3 noble gases from the low to high temperature range. Thus these experiments may help in discovering the true nature of the P3 carrier rather than identifying its apparent character

The James M. DuPont Meteorite Collection - in the presence of H to avoid exposing the diamond during the processing. As a source of pure H we have used a Ti-Al getter saturated with H at room temperature. By heating the getter to 400 degrees -500 degrees C a pressure of a few mbar of H was created. Than the H was transferred to the reaction vessel where samples were pyrolysed. After release is completed H was separated from the nitrogen, noble gases and CO2 liberated on hot CuO. We have used the technique to study a sample of diamond from Acfer 094 which is known to contain significant amounts of P3 nohle gases [3]. We found that amount of C released in the low temperature range (300 degrees -700 degrees C) was reduced by about 50% but the low temperature P3 Ar only dropped by ~15% compared
