I didnt want that to happen! I mumbled through the pillow. Katherines POV I finished packing my school stuff and walked downstairs. I grabbed an apple and walked outside waiting for the bus. The bus pulled up and Nick started walking out of the house. I made my way through and sat at my usual spot on my own. Nick sat with his girlfriend and kissed her the whole way to school: as per usual. I was going to throw-up. When we got to school, I headed to math again. Great, long division AGAIN. I was once again the first person finished so Miss Court gave me an early mark. I sat down at the oval with my guitar and started singing the song I sang this morning again. Did I forget to mention that Joe, Nick and Kevins band is starting to sky rocket? After this year, Nicks going to get home-schooled. The bell rang and I headed to life science. I have had to work with Nick in life science this whole time... Man was that awkward. I sat down at my table next to Nick who was already waiting there. Good morning class, Good morning Miss Bell, This year, we have a new assignment! It will cover ¾ of your grade! Youll be working with your table partner again because its sort of carrying on from the fake baby project. I rolled my eyes. Okay. This project is extremely serious. A baby? nick gasped. Correct Nicholas! This semesters assignment is to care for a real life baby! This baby here is named Charlotte, but for the sake of the assignment, will be called Melody. I got babies as close to your fake baby as possible. Where did you get so many babies from? The orphanage, The orphanage? There are this many babies in the orphanage? Unfortunately. Anyway, Charlotte here is almost two years old. Youll be working with your babies for one and a half semesters including summer. I know its more than half the year but too bad. Um, what else do you need to know? Oh yes, youll be taking work experience to the jobs you picked earlier to see if you can cope looking after your babies as well as a job. Youll also need to synchronise your classes again. Oh and by the way, Charlotte isnt allergic to anything, I looked down at her cute little face. You can take your seats now, Miss Bell said as she passed Nick and huge bag full of baby supplies. Nick and I walked back to our seats as another couple walked up to the teacher. She so cute! Shes so adorable! Shes so... Shes so... Perfect? Nick smiled. I smiled back at him. I guess... Nick and I just started at each other. I saw something flicker behind his eyes. We both slowly started leaning inwards. My brain was telling me not to, but my heart was egging me on. We were inches away, but then I remembered one thing. I started backing away when I realised I had a boyfriend. Ive been cheated on too many times; I dont want to cheat on Joe. Nick had a disappointed face, but I just stared down at Melody. Her cute little eyes just stared up at me and she slightly giggled. I started playing with her cheek and she grabbed my finger. I smiled and played with her basically the whole period as Nick just watched us. He looked like he was thinking. Nick and I left school that day a little bit more comfortable with each other. Were actually excited about this baby project! We walked off the bus with Melody in my arms and Nick resting his arm on my opposite shoulder. We walked through the door and Joe walked up to us. Oh what a cute baby! Whos the parents? We are! Joe fell to the floor. Joe? Joe? Are you okay? He quickly got back up. Joe did not look impressed. You... you... You guys are parents? Yes, Nick replied. Joe choked. He gave me a look. Oh God! Joe! Not like that! Did I have a huge stomach for the past nine months? Its a homework assignment you dork! I laughed. Oh thank God, Joe sighed as his face went back to normal. He walked up to me and gave me a hug. I dont want to lose you, Neither did I, I heard Nick whisper to himself. I gave him a look and Melody started crying. Oh ssh. Melody. I went to the backroom to change her while Joe and Nick started talking. I could only make up a few words.

CHAN: In our top story today: Members of a spiritual group that's brutally persecuted in China are facing increasing levels of discrimination in Russia, and it's from their own government. STORY: On December 23, the Russian Ministry of Justice added several books to its list of what it calls "extremist publications." Among them is the Russian edition of a book called Zhuan Falun, the main text of the Falun Gong spiritual practice. The book outlines the tenets of Falun Gong, which is also called Falun Dafa. [Sun Lezhi, Russian Falun Dafa Association]: "The book is about how to follow the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. After reading this book many people have quit using drugs and alcohol and stopped smoking. This book can help raise the morality of human society, and it has been published around the world. It brings society 100 percent good, and no harm." So is this book an "extremist publication"? That's what Russian courts decided in a secret hearing, and the decision allowed the Ministry of Justice to add it to the extremist list. Being on this list means anyone caught selling it or owning it can be fined. The Russian Falun Dafa Association says this action follows a pattern of discrimination against Falun Gong adherents' human rights in Russia. [Sun Lezhi, Russian Falun Dafa Association]: "The decision of the court in Krasnodar and the actions of Ministry of Justice are illegal and baseless, we dont acknowledge it and are going to file an appeal." This book Zhuan Falun has been published in more than 40 languages. Its author, Mr. Li Hongzhi, has been twice nominated for the Nobel Prize. [Irina Oshirova, Russian Falun Dafa Association]: "I have been cultivating for about 12 years. From Zhuan Falun I realized a lot of things: Why I have to be compassionate and clean-living in this life, why I cant lie or steal, why I cant retaliate when I am hit or sworn at, why I should look within when a conflict happens, and why I shouldnt criticize others." [Julyana Kim, Moscow Falun Gong Practitioner]: "I have benefitted a lot physically from the practice of Falun Gong. By now, I have practically forgotten about all the illnesses I used to suffer from." Lawyer Mikhail Sinitsyn is helping Falun Gong practitioners resolve matters concerning the violation of their rights. In his opinion, the court deliberately did not invite Falun Gong to participate in the hearings because, he says, they would have proven the positive influence of Falun Gong. [Mikhail Sinitsyn, Lawyer]: "This court hearing violates the rights of Russian practitioners of Falun Dafa for free access to information, and the right to act according to their belief." Sinitsyn says neither the prosecutor's office nor the Ministry of Justice made any direct claims against Falun Gong to justify the blacklisting... So what's behind the ruling? The Falun Dafa Association says it wasn't originally the Russian government, but rather the Chinese Communist Party, which severely persecutes the spiritual group inside China. [Sun Lezhi, Russian Falun Dafa Association]: "Over the past four years the Chinese communist regime has been spreading slander about Falun Gong in Russia and exporting its persecution overseas, trying to win the Russian government over with economic benefits and trade deals. Unfortunately, Russian authorities have accepted its slander and lies and help spread them." Also added to the list of "extremist publications" in Russia was an investigative report by Canadians David Kilgour and David Matas. It details how China's state-run prisons harvest organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. [Sun Lezhi, Russian Falun Dafa Association]: "Therefore, I think that the court decision and the actions of Ministry of justice turn the principles of good and evil upside down. Think about it, if society cannot tell good from evil, it will face great danger. I believe that the Chinese Communist regime will end soon, just like the Communist party of Soviet Union ended. I would not like the Russian government to be an accomplice in the crimes of the CCP. I wish for the well-being and a good future for the Russian nation." Russian Falun Gong practitioners will file an appeal against the original court judgment in the near future.
