Check out us riding a goat in this home movie... I got pieces of film in the 80s about two feet long.. ran it through the projector with a opposing mirror into a vhs video camera.. lots of times when it bent, it was then pieces of film 4 inches long.. got most it on vhs.. the vhs was going bad so I transferred it onto dvd.. now transferring onto computer, ten minutes at a time... I have another hour and somewhat to sort out.. all out of time and sequence. Was kinda rough back then. Poor, lived in a tar paper shack.. We ate squirrels, buggy flour dumplings, weeds from the ditches, polk salad.. Lil brother , he still licks his lips at the thought of squirrel and says yummy.. I got burned out on tree rat. Johnny was the crack shot of the family.. he'd shoot them in a way not to waste a bit of meat.. I'd shoot them to hit them.. Don, the baby was our squirrel dog, he'd run around the tree and flush the squirrel around for a shot, then run and grab it and bring it back. When out of bullets, we'd twist squirrels out of holes.. you put a branch up a knothole with a fork.. twist it.. when you pull that branch out a really pissed off animal on the end of a stick. All my brothers were excellent shots.(hunger does that). I could not do with a $2500 rifle what Johnny could do with a $7 22 rimfire.. I still get frustrated.. Johnny passed away at 18 in the early seventies. DON, he works for the Railroad, building bikes now with engines on them so I don't have to push him.. Charles Cofer, (oldest) is a Instructor for a contractor for TVA in Knoxville at the moment, worked long enough to retire in Chattanooga teaching instrumentation-robotics-digital electronics in maintenance. Father and mother died in last two years, Grampa, Granny died in the early 80s.. we all said the first year Grampa could not have a garden, he'd pass away.. he died within 3 months of granny of loneliness. John Ross Indian days.. The fancy dancers there putting on a exhibition. I was about five at that time?
