April 26, 1999 Clan Marauder vs. Aftermath well6 Timmy.M-MD (O/D) scout, sniper, medic, pyro This was the second round of a match on well6 against Aftermath. We were down 2 caps to none after the first round and knew that victory would be difficult. After a single run as an offensive scout I was instructed to snipe in our own well, but about a minute after that I was instructed to go back to offense, so I did. Once again, prompt destruction of the opposing grate was apparently out of the question, hindering our attack greatly, though we did manage the feat about four minutes in. About six and a half minutes in Aftermath capped our flag, putting them up 3-0 for the match and making victory pretty much impossible. I was getting nowhere as a scout, prompting me to switch to medic. Still, progress was difficult, particularly as concussion jumping to the catwalks still means two angry enemy soldiers to deal with while waiting for the concussion to wear off. Naturally, I was soon instructed to snipe on offense. About fourteen minutes in we finally managed to penetrate the defense, getting both a scout and myself up to the attic with the enemy dispatched. Sadly, Julie the scout couldn't get the job done and I encountered the dispenser that just wouldn't die for some reason, giving the defense time to regroup and take me out. About twenty minutes in JT finally managed to pull their flag into the water. As Aftermath capped yet again somebody on Marauder pulled the flag out of the water and into the hallway leading to the ramp room, which was unfortunate because the flag is more easily defended there. Nonetheless, while I was continually dying by setting foot outside my own base, we were able to finish the cap, making the score 4-1, only to see Aftermath cap yet again a minute later and then again a couple of minutes after that. I finally switched to pyro near the end but it made little difference. I was able to hold their attic for a little while but getting near the flag was out of the question. A final couple of caps for them made the score 6-1 for the round and 8-1 for the match. We nearly had a second cap but time expired with their flag in our base. In the end, their snipers, Flea and Argyle, were just too good for us, controlling the outside. A frustrating match for Marauder.
