It is, indeed, a matter of great pleasure to see the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar more popularly known as IDEAS going from strength to strength, in a short span of seven years. The exhibition has grown in scope and stature and I feel satisfied to see Pakistans achievements in this relatively new ground for us. The rendezvous or forum of IDEAS provides excellent opportunity to develop better understanding and friendship, networking of defence industry for trade and joint ventures, and more importantly seeking affordable solutions to prevent war through conventional balance. This was stated by Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan while acting as Chief Guest of the ceremony. The Prime Minister formally announced the soft launching of the IDEAS-2008 which will be held from 24-28 Nov 2008 at Karachi Expo Centre. The Prime Minister also distributed the IDEAS 2008 souvenirs among the participants

My first Vidcast. I just want to say that I'm not doing this because I like the sound of my own voice, or because I like being on camera. I'm doing a video diary project for my video production degree, so I thought doing a vidcast would be good practice. I also thought a vidcast/blog would give me an opportunity to offer my own opinions on my favourite films and programmes. As a film student, I'm neither and aged critic, nor an average viewer completely ignorant to both how the industry works, and also the complexities of TV & Film as art forms in their own right. From previous experience on Doctor Who forums, I've found my own opinions starkly differ from other fans and can be occassionally controversial. This project is very much an experimental one. I wasn't sure if it entirely worked, or even if it's a good idea, so by all means give feedback on this, even if you didn't like it and say why, so I could perhaps improve any mistakes I've made. Please bear in mind though, that this was my first time, and I was reasonably nervous and not used to the camera. However, don't hold back if you do think it didn't work. This is only an experiment, so if I get mainly a negative response, I know not to do anymore and scrap the whole thing. But at the same time if I get a positive response, I'll make more and turn it into a more semi-regular project. So in a sense these videos are partly for what you want to see, as well as what I want to say and do. I hope I don't bore anyone.
