First song I wrote after picking up this vintage 1930s Oahu Hawaiian guitar... it's a model 65M, which means it's 2nd from top of the line for the company... and you can't see it in the video but it's got a tasteful black to brown sunburst on all angles, merging into solid mahogany throughout... the sound is incredible. It's also got checker binding top, bottom, and soundhole, and ivoroid buttons on the original tuners. What am I trying to say? This thing makes music, unlike its bluesier birch-built cousins. I tune GBDGBD with extra-light pbs... and while I don't make use of the tuning for solos and fill-ins in this video, it's a great one because you can play the same tunes an octave up and down while on the same "fret." I love continuity...! The song, of course, is my own!
